MEET WARREN

NEW LEADERSHIP DELIVERING RESULTS FOR OUR COMMUNITY

Warren Lee Grace, Jr. is announcing his candidacy for election to the Wetzel County Board of Education, representing District 3 in Wetzel County, West Virginia. Warren has been married to Judy Taylor Grace for thirty five years. Both Judy and Warren are retired educators and live at 175 East Thistle Place in New Martinsville. They have two adult children; Dr. Warren Lee Grace, III, living and practicing medicine with the Pain Relief Center in Charleston, West Virginia, and Kathryn Rose Grace Martin, a Dental Hygienist, married and living in Leesburg, Virginia. Warren is a 1966 graduate of East Bank High School (WV), has earned an undergraduate degree and two masters degrees from West Virginia University, and is a Life Member of the West Virginia University Alumni Association. Warren began his career in public school education as an American Studies teacher at Morgantown High School in 1975. He entered school administration in 1982, and has been part of the Wetzel County Schools, as principal of Magnolia High School and Paden City High School, for twenty three years. He retired in 2010. As a high school principal, Warren was twice elected to serve as the Region One principal representative to the West Virginia Secondary Schools Activities Commission (WVSSAC), and was the only three time President of the Executive Board of the Ohio Valley Athletic Conference (OVAC) in the history of the conference.

In 1988, Warren was selected to attend the 2nd Annual West Virginia Principals Academy, and was subsequently asked to be a Programmatic Leader for many principals academies. Mr. Grace is a United States Navy veteran, having served two years active duty at NavCommSta, Londonderry, Northern Ireland (NATO) and six years  in the Active Naval Reserve in South Charleston, WV and Fairmont, WV. Since his retirement from public education in 2010, Warren has substituted in many Wetzel County schools, and is very familiar with issues and personnel vital to the success of our school system. Warren is very proud to team with former Wetzel County Schools Superintendent Bill Jones, and Amy Cooley, a regular parent volunteer in the New Martinsville School library, for election to the Wetzel County Board of Education. Collectively, their first order of business will be to dramatically change the leadership, direction and overall tone of our school system. Warren Grace, Bill Jones and Amy Cooley are strongly committed to the students and teachers in all Wetzel County schools, and  they will be in regular contact with all school personnel if they are honored with election to the Wetzel County Board of Education on May 10, 2016. Your support for the election of Warren Grace, Bill Jones, and Amy Cooley is greatly appreciated.
